Think Like an Editor blog by Steve Davis and Emilie Davis, S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Syracuse University

Happy New Year from Two Profs

By · Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

We recently passed the one-year mark of blogging for Think Like an Editor. We started the blog to coincide with the publication last January of our book, “Think Like an Editor: 50 Strategies for the Print and Digital World.”

In that time, we produced dozens of videos and posted blog items about strategies in our book, events in the news and issues around us. We heard from former students and colleagues, as well as current students, friends and family across the country and around the globe.

There’s more to come.

Every day, we — all of us — are bombarded by messages. They come from all sorts of places via all kinds of devices. That’s part of the fun of this blog — being able to communicate in text, audio and video. But, mostly, to be able to communicate, period. To write, to publish, to Tweet, too.

We have invited classes at other colleges and universities who adopt our book to join our online community. It’s an open invitation.

As we approach the start of 2011, we look forward to another year of innovation in classrooms, newsrooms, the media industry and the journalism profession. So does Foofie, our counterpart who appears in all of our videos; he wishes you a Happy New Year, too.

@twoprofs, Steve and Emilie
